A Special Message From Our ASG President

Welcome to City College! I am Victoria Boahemaa Owusu, ASG President and a Student Trustee for the San Diego Community College District. I'm also a current Umoja scholar and a member of City Women Rock. This is my third year at City College. My major is Biology with the long term goal of becoming a Physician Assistant, and currently a Certified Nurse Assistant. I've had the honor to serve on the ASG as a Senator for the past two years. Joining ASG, I had the aim of helping students feel welcome and be able to share their concerns to their fellow students. I can gladly say this goal was accomplished while I was a senator. Students had the opportunity to advocate for themselves. As the new ASG President, I plan to continue with this goal and also work with the rest of the ASG board members to make San Diego City College a better place for all. I plan to transfer next fall to either UCLA, UC Davis or UC San Diego.


I'm extremely excited to welcome all students back and also students that chose City College as where to begin or continue with their dreams. I promise you, you will not be disappointed because at City College, we take student concerns into account and all students MATTER.  I would also like to invite all students interested in joining the ASG board as we are looking forward to building our board, and I assure you it will be one of the best leadership experiences. Once again, welcome back all students, and I wish you all a terrific semester. Let's go Knights!

The Associated Students Government (ASG) is the governing body that finances, organizes, and directs many student sponsored programs and activities at City College. Elections are held annually in the Spring semester for ASG Executive, Officer and Senator positions, with midyear elections held as needed. Any student with a current City College ID card may vote in the elections.

ASSOCIATED STUDENTS MEMBERSHIP

Support your ASG by purchasing an AS membership. The membership entitles you to many special discounts and privileges. The revenues go back to support various campus events and activities. The Student Affairs Office is working with ASG to complile a list of current benefits to be announced soon.

ASG General Guidance

Please be aware that any funding requests to ASG must be received not later than last ASG Board meeting of April each year due to fiscal year constraints set forth by the college's  policies and procedures. Funding requests to ASG may be submitted in the new fiscal year beginning in the Fall semester for consideration.
