SDCCD is excited to announce the launch of our NEW & IMPROVED, district-wide student & alumni online job board, Handshake, as a free one-stop-shop for kickstarting careers.

Students who attended SDCCD from Spring 2020-Present are expected to receive an email from Handshake in early March inviting them to activate their free student account. 

Students can activate their Handshake profile to:

  • Search and apply for 1000s of jobs, internships, or volunteer opportunities based on their major & interests
  • Get personalized job recommendations & connect with employers directly
  • Schedule appointments with the Career Center for support with career exploration, resume, job preparation & more!

Housing contracts become available

Housing: Since campus housing is highly impacted and assigned first-come, first-served, it is recommended that you submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR), housing contract or application, and first housing payment as early as possible.

June 1:

Deadline to submit your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR)

July 1:

Deadline to submit your final transcripts/documents for coursework completed through end of spring

September:

Fall Quarter/Semester begins

SDSU Visits for Spring '22

As an update, SDSU is now hosting a  Virtual Front Desk Monday-Friday from 11am-2pm. Please feel free to refer any admitted or prospective students to meet with an admissions staff member via the virtual office. This information has been updated on SDSU’s In-State Admission Contact Information site.

Students can continue to email SDSU’s Office of Admissions at admissions@sdsu.edu, but there is a 7-10 day delay in response time.

The Student Transfer and Career Center is the focal point of transfer and career services and activities on campus. We serve as a resource center for students to become experts of their transfer and career goals.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to assist students to successfully transition from San Diego City College to a four year institution or immediately into the career of their choice. We empower students in the transfer and career process to ensure a smooth and positive transition.

Student Learning Outcomes:

  1. Increase student exploration and career interpretation workshops. 
  2. Develop career mapping before ed-planning guidelines using campus-wide technology for student success teams.
  3. Provide campus guided activities that create liaisons to employment opportunities and future students' careers.

    The Transfer Alliance Program is a collaboration between local community college Honors/Scholars Programs and UCLA College (Letters and Science) in conjunction with Undergraduate Admissions and Relations with Schools. The program is designed to foster academic excellence at the community college level and to promote diversity and retention in the UCLA transfer population.

  • University of California Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG)
    Seven UC campuses offer students attending a California Community College guaranteed admission through a TAG. Interested students must satisfactorily complete UC and campus-specific transfer admission requirements to be eligible for a TAG. Participating UC campuses are: Davis, Irvine, Merced, Riverside, San Diego, Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz. Criteria for each campus's TAG are provided through this site once you begin the TAG application process.
