Child Development Program Highlights

Meets California Child Development Permit and Licensing Requirements for Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and School-Age programs

Offers core courses, which transfer to four-year colleges and universities

Provides opportunities for supervised field experience with children in our on-campus lab school

Articulates with San Diego City Schools ROP Child Development Program

Associate of Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for transfer

Program Learning Outcomes

Students who complete the program will be able to:

 • Interpret the processes of child growth and development.

• Examine practices that respect and support inclusion.

• Plan and demonstrate curriculum based on developmentally appropriate practices.

• Model ethical practices with children, families, colleagues and communities as stated in the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct.
